We are seeking an organised, approachable and capable Volunteer Coordinator to lead and support our growing volunteer workforce across AWH. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people and can build strong relationships across a broad and diverse community.
Our volunteers play an important role in the patient, resident and visitor experience across our health service. As Volunteer Coordinator, you will help ensure volunteers are well supported, appropriately trained, connected to meaningful roles, and aligned with AWH values and expectations.
About the Role
The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, recruitment, onboarding and ongoing support of volunteers across multiple programs and sites. The role works closely with operational leaders, staff and community members to maintain a positive and professional volunteer experience.
You will:
• Coordinate volunteer recruitment, onboarding and engagement activities
• Support volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds and life experiences
• Build positive working relationships across the organisation
• Maintain volunteer systems, records, compliance processes and reporting requirements
• Help develop and improve systems and processes that support an effective and sustainable volunteer workforce
• Assist with recognition programs, communication and volunteer events
• Contribute to the future growth and development of volunteering at AWH
About You
We are looking for someone who:
• Is highly organised and able to manage competing priorities
• Is comfortable managing systems, databases and administrative processes
• Communicates confidently and respectfully with all people • Has sound administrative and coordination skills
• Can work independently while building strong collaborative relationships
• Brings a practical, solutions-focused approach to their work • Values inclusion, professionalism and community connection
Experience working with volunteers, community programs, healthcare or people-focused services will be highly regarded.
