Albury Wodonga Health (AWH) is embarking on an exciting transformation of its People & Culture function through the introduction of a contemporary Business Partnering model. We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior People & Culture Business Partner to lead our Business Partnering team and partner with senior leaders to drive workforce outcomes across the organisation.

This newly created leadership role provides a unique opportunity to influence organisational strategy, support workforce sustainability, and build strong partnerships that enable exceptional patient care.

 

About the Role

Reporting to the Director, People & Culture Business Partnering & Employee Relations, the Senior People & Culture Business Partner is the leader of the Business Partnering function and a trusted workforce advisor to Executive Directors and senior leaders.

You will provide strategic workforce leadership across a diverse and complex healthcare environment, overseeing workforce planning, organisational change, employee and industrial relations, workforce capability and culture initiatives.

Leading a team of three P&C Business Partners, you will ensure leaders receive coordinated, responsive and high-quality workforce support while fostering strong partnerships across specialist People & Culture teams.

A key aspect of the role is acting as the conduit between operational leaders and specialist People & Culture functions including Industrial Relations, Recruitment & Onboarding, Workforce Operations & Payroll, Occupational Health & Safety, Organisational Development, and Culture & Diversity.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the People & Culture Business Partner team.
  • Partner with Executive Directors and senior leaders to deliver strategic workforce solutions.
  • Drive workforce planning, succession planning and workforce sustainability initiatives.
  • Provide strategic oversight of complex employee and industrial relations matters.
  • Support organisational change, service redesign and transformation initiatives.
  • Identify workforce risks and develop proactive solutions.
  • Use workforce analytics and insights to support evidence-based decision-making.
  • Strengthen leadership capability through coaching and workforce advice.
  • Foster strong collaboration between Business Partners and specialist People & Culture teams.
  • Champion the implementation and continuous improvement of AWH's Business Partnering model.

 

About You

You are a strategic thinker and trusted workforce professional who thrives in complex environments.

You will bring:

  • Significant experience in a senior HR, employee relations or workforce leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with Executive and senior leaders.
  • Strong experience in workforce planning, organisational change and leadership capability development.
  • Advanced employee and industrial relations knowledge.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement, influencing and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to translate workforce data into meaningful insights and action.
  • A collaborative leadership style with a commitment to building strong partnerships and delivering integrated workforce solutions.
