Casual Positions Available - Maternity Ward

 

The RUSOM assists with the provision of woman-centred, family oriented, evidence-based care within a multidisciplinary team environment. Under the delegation and supervision of a midwife, the RUSOM works collegially with other health professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes for mothers and infants in their care.

 

A RUSOM is a student registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a student midwife. The student must be currently enrolled at a University undertaking a Bachelor of Nursing/Bachelor of Midwifery (double degree) or a Bachelor of Midwifery and has completed a minimum of one year of their Midwifery Degree.

 

Albury Wodonga Health (AWH) Wodonga Hospital (WH) has positions available for Registered Undergraduate Students of Midwifery who are currently completing Bachelor of Nursing/Bachelor of Midwifery (double degree) or a Bachelor of Midwifery studies.

 

Details:

 

  • Minimum 6 month contract for a minimum of 0.2FTE (1 day per week - paid)
  • The RUSOM will be rostered to work in the Postnatal Ward 
  • Students are employed part time (3 days per week) whilst studying 
  • Supported orientation and appropriate clinical support will be provided 
  • Salary and conditions of employment will be accordance with the Nurses (Victorian Public Health Sector) Multiple Business agreement

 

Requirements for applicants:

  • Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, Registered Student Midwife or Nurse/Midwife.
  • The RUSOM is currently enrolled at a University undertaking a Bachelor of Nursing/Bachelor of Midwifery (double degree) or a Bachelor of Midwifery and has completed at least one year of their Midwifery Degree.
  • Cover Letter
  • Address the selection criteria.
  • Current CV which includes 3 current with 2 being relevant to your Midwifery Studies.
  • Successful applicants must provide at interview a university transcript (original document) demonstrating successful completion of one year of the Bachelor of Nursing/Bachelor of Midwifery (double degree) or a Bachelor of Midwifery.
  • A relevant midwifery clinical placement must have been completed.
  • Applicants need to be available for Interview

 

Successful applicants will be required to complete appropriate Criminal Record Screening paperwork/processes in order for AWH to meet its obligations regarding screening for serious criminal offences (within and external to Australia). Applicants unable to commit to this screening process should not submit an application for employment.

 

This is a Category A position, successful applicants must provide evidence of vaccination prior to commencement.

AWH is not able to support applicants requiring sponsorship.
