About the role

The Food Services Assistant will be a valued member of the Support Services Team. The role is responsible for the preparation and delivery of food services for patients, staff and other identified clients, as well as the cleaning and servicing of assigned areas and waste disposal. The Food Services Assistant works in accordance with the AWH Food Safety Plan, policies and procedures, including Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) principles.

We are actively seeking candidates who meet the following requirements:

• Comply with and adhere to the Food Safety Plan.
• Plate meals and meal components, including the assembly of patient meal trays.
• Deliver and collect meal trolleys and mid-meals to wards and outlying areas, and deliver food items throughout the hospital.
• Deliver and restock pantry items to ward and department areas.
• Clean and restock the tray line.
• Wash tableware and serving dishes, and dispose of refuse appropriately.
