The Financial Accountant is a key role within the Finance Directorate, responsible for AWH’s financial accounting functions, strengthening financial governance, and ensuring compliance with legislation, Australian Accounting Standards, and Department of Health reporting requirements.
Working closely with the Finance Manager and Director of Finance, this role ensures the integrity of accounting processes, and enhances the organisation’s financial systems and reporting capabilities.

 

As a member of the financial accounting team, you will provide support and expertise across:

 

Financial Accounting & Reporting


•    Complete month end and year end processes, including journals, reconciliations, and statutory reporting.
•    Prepare and lodge monthly Health Agency reports to the Department of Health.
•    Administer and maintain AWH’s Chart of Accounts.


Financial Control & Systems Improvement


•    Monitor and implement financial controls to ensure accuracy and integrity.
•    Drive improvement across financial policies, procedures, and systems.


Stakeholder Management 


•    Liaise with internal stakeholders, external auditors, and the Department of Health.
