AWH is one of the country’s largest regional public hospital providers, serving a local population of approx. 120,000 and a regional population of 300,000. With a growing portfolio of tertiary services and an ambition to treat a greater proportion of the population locally, AWH has ambition for its service profile, the quality of services it provides, the culture and experience of staff, and experience and treatment of patients.
Since its’ inception 15 years ago this cross-border health service, which is part of the Victorian health system but overseen by both the Victorian Department of Health and New South Wales Ministry of Health is at a crossroads of opportunity as it plans to realise the potential of current capital investments.
This is a role that will require proven polished ability to successfully navigate the dynamism, complexity and ambiguities that are part and parcel of Australia’s only inter-jurisdictional health service.

Employment Type: This is a fulltime (Victorian Health Executive Employment & Remuneration) (Band 2) fixed term contract.

About Albury Wodonga Health (AWH)
AWH serves as the largest regional healthcare provider between Sydney and Melbourne, situated in the border cities of Albury and Wodonga. With a dedicated team of over 3,000 professionals, we proudly service a population of up to 300,000 across North-East Victoria and Southern NSW. Our extensive network encompasses two primary hospital campuses and an additional 22 sites, delivering a diverse range of emergency, surgical, women’s and children’s, community, mental health, allied health, and sub-acute services. Our growth continues with the opening of a state-of-the-art Emergency Department in 2024, and excitingly, the construction of a new hospital at our Albury site by 2028. This expansion will greatly elevate our ability to service the needs of our community, and we need a great team of people like you to accomplish this.
