Youth Justice Mental Health Clinician (Permanent Part Time)

Youth Justice Mental Health Clinician, Infant Child and Youth Mental Health Service (ICYMHS), permanent part time available for the following disciplines: Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and Clinical Psychologists

Are you an experienced mental health clinician passionate about supporting vulnerable young people? Join the Infant, Child and Youth Mental Health Service (ICYMHS) and play a pivotal role in improving outcomes for young people involved with the Youth Justice system across the Albury Wodonga Health catchment.

As a Youth Justice Mental Health Clinician, you will provide specialist mental health assessment, treatment, care coordination and support to young people and their families, helping them navigate complex challenges and access the care they need.

About the Role

This unique position combines clinical expertise with strong partnership-based practice. Working across both Youth Justice Offices and ICYMHS sites, you will deliver an innovative 'in-reaching' model of care, bringing mental health support directly to young people within the Youth Justice system.

You will:

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and provide evidence-based treatment.
• Deliver high-quality care coordination for young people experiencing mental health difficulties.
• Engage and support young people and their families through a collaborative, person-centred approach.
• Provide education, training, consultation and specialist advice to key stakeholders.
• Work closely with Youth Justice and multidisciplinary teams to improve access to mental health services for vulnerable young people.

About You

We are seeking candidates with:

• Extensive experience in mental health assessment and treatment.
• Advanced clinical skills in working with young people experiencing mental health challenges.
• Strong care coordination, consultation and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• A commitment to collaborative practice and improving outcomes for vulnerable youth.

About Albury Wodonga Health (AWH)

AWH serves as the largest regional healthcare provider between Sydney and Melbourne, situated in the border cities of Albury and Wodonga. Mental Health Services at Albury Wodonga Health

AWH is an Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Service, providing mental health treatment, care and support, including delivering Alcohol and Other Drugs services. We deliver 10 specialised community-based programs, along with three acute care services and three facilities dedicated to recovery and rehabilitation. We also provide services supporting families coping with parental mental illness and facilitating connections to carer consultants.
Our Mental Health and Wellbeing teams comprise mental health clinicians with a background in nursing, occupational therapy, social work, and psychology, all of whom have experience in helping people through a range of therapies. The diversity of our service provides a range of experiences for our team and will assist you in expanding and embedding your clinical practice skills.
