Specialist Family Violence Advisor, Mental Health & Wellbeing, Part time, Permanent available! Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker or Psychologist.

The Specialist Family Violence Advisor will be a valued member of the Mental Health & Wellbeing team to provide family violence expertise and support to the Mental Health and Wellbeing Programs in identifying and responding to family violence.

We are actively seeking candidates who meet the following requirements to apply for this exceptional opportunity.

• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of trauma informed care and have highly developed skills when working with consumers who have experienced family violence, including children.
• Demonstrated experience of capacity building and providing secondary consultation to high-risk cases, including consumers who are using family violence.
• Have a clear understanding of the correlation between family violence, mental health and trauma and the impact across the life span.
• Knowledge and understanding of MARAM framework, current legislation relevant to Family Violence and mental health practice inclusive of Mental Health Act, Family Violence Protection Act, Child Wellbeing and Safety Act, FVIS/CISS and the current landscape of policy reform across Victoria and at a National level.
• Support collaboration within and between the mental health programs, Alcohol and other Drugs program, and the local family violence sector.

Mental Health Services at Albury Wodonga Health

AWH is an Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Service, providing mental health treatment, care and support, including delivering Alcohol and Other Drugs services. We deliver 10 specialised community-based programs, along with three acute care services and three facilities dedicated to recovery and rehabilitation. We also provide services supporting families coping with parental mental illness and facilitating connections to carer consultants.
Our Mental Health and Wellbeing teams comprise mental health clinicians with a background in nursing, occupational therapy, social work, and psychology, all of whom have experience in helping people through a range of therapies. The diversity of our service provides a range of experiences for our team and will assist you in expanding and embedding your clinical practice skills.

Relocating to the region?

Albury Wodonga Health has access to the Regional Mental Health Workforce Incentive program. The Incentive program was designed by the Department of Health to support the attraction, relocation, and retention of mental health and alcohol and other drug (AOD) workers to priority positions area mental health and wellbeing services across rural and regional Victoria.
Candidates relocating may be eligible for grants of up to $20,000 to cover expenses such as removalist, travel fees, accommodation costs, school fees, etc. For a more detailed understanding of the incentive program, Rural Workforce Agency Victoria (RWAV).
