The Interventional Cardiologist will be a valued member of the Cardiac Services Team to undertake cardiology services (for both interventional and non-interventional services where appropriate and subject to appropriate credentialing & scope of clinical practice). We are actively seeking candidates who meet the following requirements to apply for this exceptional opportunity.
Principal Responsibilities:
Where appropriate, provide interventional cardiology services consistent with credentialing and agreed scope of practice at AWH.
Work in collaboration with other AWH’s interventional cardiologist(s).
Participate in cardiology ward service roster to provide care to patients admitted under the Cardiology Unit.
Manage patients in outpatient settings, providing expert medical assessment, care coordination and management in cardiology.
Provide consultation and specialist support to physician colleagues, to the Emergency Department (ED) and other units as requested.
Pacemaker implantation and management is preferred but no a requirement.
Provide if appropriate echocardiography, transthoracic and transoesophageal echo services to both inpatients and outpatients.
Oversee transfers of patients as required.
Participate in on-call as required.
Provide outpatient consulting sessions as required.
Participate and support AWH related education, training, quality and clinical governance meetings and activities - including supervision / teaching of junior staff.
