Albury Wodonga Health (AWH) is seeking an exceptional leader to join our Corporate Services Directorate as Director of Corporate Operations.

Reporting directly to the Chief Corporate Services Officer (CCSO), this newly established role operates as a senior strategic adviser and trusted partner, providing executive coordination, governance leadership and oversight of major organisational initiatives across the Corporate Services portfolio.

Working in a Chief of Staff-type capacity, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective operation of the Directorate by coordinating priorities, supporting executive decision-making, driving accountability and leading key transformation programs that deliver value across the organisation.

About the Role

As Director of Corporate Operations, you will:

  • Act as the principal adviser and coordination lead to the CCSO.
  • Drive alignment and collaboration across the Corporate Services portfolios, including Finance, Procurement & Supply Chain, Workforce Operations & Solutions, HR Partnering & Employee Relations, Safety, Culture & Capability, Health Information, Business Intelligence and ICT.
  • Coordinate Board, Board Committee and Executive Leadership Team reporting and work programs.
  • Review and quality assure executive, Board and governance documentation prior to CCSO endorsement.
  • Lead and oversee major organisational projects and transformation initiatives, including the SAP SuccessFactors (HCM) program and other strategic priorities.
  • Establish and maintain governance frameworks, reporting structures and action tracking mechanisms.
  • Monitor strategic priorities, risks and interdependencies across the Corporate Services portfolio.
  • Act on behalf of the CCSO in governance and coordination matters as required.

About You

You are a highly capable strategic leader with exceptional judgement, communication and stakeholder management skills. You are comfortable working at executive level, managing competing priorities and translating complex information into practical solutions and actions.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Public Administration, Project Management or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience in a Chief of Staff, Executive Office, Program Management, Strategy, Governance or senior Corporate Services leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting senior executives and working within complex governance environments.
  • Proven experience leading and delivering organisation-wide programs and projects.
  • Strong understanding of Board, Executive and committee processes, governance frameworks and reporting requirements.
  • Exceptional written communication skills, including preparation and review of Board papers, business cases and executive briefings.
  • Advanced stakeholder engagement and influencing skills with the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of an organisation.

Project management qualifications such as PMP, PRINCE2 or Agile certifications, and experience within the health or public sector, will be highly regarded.
