The Clinical Nurse Educator position serves as an expert resource and mentor, responsible for developing, coordinating, and evaluating educational programs for nursing staff in the Casual & Nursing Float pool settings. The role supports clinical competency, professional development, and evidence-based practice among staff.  The N&MWU Clinical Nurse Educator is a valued member of the Nursing & Midwifery workforce unit, working cohesively and collaboratively within this Division alongside the Nurse Unit Manager.
 
Major components of the position include: 
 
•    Bedside clinical support and mentoring of new staff and learners 
•    Plan and provide in-service training to meet staff continuing professional development needs 
•    Design, develop, implement, and evaluate learning programs in response to learner needs and gap analysis 
•    Facilitate and perform assessments as a component of divisional education programs 
•    Contribute to the development and implementation of policy and procedure relevant to this division 
•    Coordinate and deliver divisional professional development study days in conjunction with the needs of this team 
 
 Candidates meeting the following criteria are encouraged to apply: 
 
•    Current registration with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse 
•    Tertiary postgraduate qualification in Nursing Education (or willingness to work towards)
•    Vocational Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment is highly desirable (or willingness to work towards)
•    Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and skill across medical & surgical Nursing 
•    Demonstrated commitment to clinical education and clinical support 
•    Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills
•    Demonstrated ability to work within a team structure in a multidisciplinary environment 
 
Employment Type: This is a Fixed Term opportunity with a review in 12 months. Hours up to full time available
