About the role
The Biomedical Engineer - Grade 1 will be a valued member of the Biomedical Engineering Team. This Biomedical Engineering Class 1 position shall be responsible for the repairs / maintenance / servicing and inspection activities for BME equipment, commensurate with their skills and experience held within their assigned site / satellite sites. We are actively seeking candidates who meet the following requirements to apply for this exceptional opportunity.

  • Demonstrate the qualification / experience levels detailed in the Health Professional and Medical Salaries (NSW State) Award 2021 for a Class 1 Biomedical Engineer. You should have a Diploma or Graduate/Degree or Post Graduate/Masters in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, Mechatronics or Electrical and be eligible for respective Engineers Australia (EA) membership - NSW state Awards will be according to qualification.
  • Demonstrate sufficient knowledge and experience (commensurate with Class 1) to be able to provide technical support (repairs / maintenance / servicing / problem solving and inspection activities) under limited supervision of the AWH Biomedical Equipment Asset Class at AWH - in a demanding health environment and current best practise (AMAF/ISO).
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and organise own work within constrained time frames.
  • Ability to rapidly learn and interpret service and operator manuals, together with training information.
