Are you an experienced Mental Health Nurse leader ready to make a lasting impact? An exciting opportunity exists for a passionate and dynamic Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to join The Willows Community Care Unit in Beechworth as a valued member of the Mental Health & Wellbeing Team.

In this influential leadership role, you will play a pivotal part in the planning and redevelopment of the service while fostering a positive, high-performing culture that supports both staff and consumers. You will lead and inspire a diverse multidisciplinary team, ensuring the delivery of safe, evidence-based, recovery-oriented, person-centred care that achieves outstanding outcomes for consumers and their families.

About You

To be successful in this rewarding role, you will bring:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with qualifications and experience in Mental Health Nursing.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in nursing, management, or a related discipline.
  • A strong understanding of recovery-oriented practice and the complex care needs of people experiencing acute and enduring mental illness.
  • Proven experience in budget management, resource allocation, and developing innovative solutions to achieve quality outcomes while maintaining financial sustainability.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, develop, implement, monitor and evaluate programs and services.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with experience in change management, service development, and leading teams through transformation.
  • Sound knowledge of contemporary trends, best practice approaches, and emerging developments in mental health recovery and service delivery.

About Albury Wodonga Health (AWH)

AWH serves as the largest regional healthcare provider between Sydney and Melbourne, situated in the border cities of Albury and Wodonga. With a dedicated team of over 3,000 professionals, we proudly service a population of up to 300,000 across North-East Victoria and Southern NSW. Our extensive network encompasses two primary hospital campuses and an additional 22 sites, delivering a diverse range of emergency, surgical, women’s and children’s, community, mental health, allied health, and sub-acute services. Mental Health Services at Albury Wodonga Health

AWH is an Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Service, providing mental health treatment, care and support, including delivering Alcohol and Other Drugs services. We deliver 10 specialised community-based programs, along with three acute care services and three facilities dedicated to recovery and rehabilitation. We also provide services supporting families coping with parental mental illness and facilitating connections to carer consultants.
Our Mental Health and Wellbeing teams comprise mental health clinicians with a background in nursing, occupational therapy, social work, and psychology, all of whom have experience in helping people through a range of therapies. The diversity of our service provides a range of experiences for our team and will assist you in expanding and embedding your clinical practice skills.
