About the role

The Wardsperson plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of hospital wards by providing essential non-clinical assistance to healthcare professionals and ensuring a safe, clean, and organised environment for patients. This position involves a variety of tasks, including patient transportation, equipment management, mortuary duties and general support duties to enhance patient care and staff efficiency.

 

Key responsibilities include:

* Patient Assistance and Transportation: 

   - Safely transport patients to and from various departments within the hospital.

   - Assist patients with mobility and positioning as needed.

 

* Communication and Collaboration:

   - Work closely with nursing staff, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.

   - Respond promptly to requests and instructions from nursing staff and management.

 

* Mortuary Duties

   - Assist with transfer of deceased from wards

   - Liaise with funeral homes and other external agencies


Employment Type: This is a permanent part time position and in addition we have casual opportunities available.
