Albury Wodonga Health is seeking a passionate and experienced counsellor to join our Specialist Counselling Services team. As a VAN Family & Young Person’s Counsellor, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting children, young people, and families impacted by violence, abuse, and neglect. This is a unique opportunity to work with motivated familieshave had some level of contact with the NSW Child Protection system, delivering trauma-informed care that fosters safety, healing, and long-term wellbeing. The program providers:
- Trauma informed interventions and responses,
- Case coordination that includes intake, assessment, case planning and referral functions,
- Client focussed advocacy, liaison and consultation,
- Consultation in relation to child protection matters to other health professionals as part of the team's service delivery.
- A genuine child-centred, family focused approach, collaborating across services to ensure clients receive the service they need, when they need it.
We are actively seeking candidates who meet the following requirements to apply for this exceptional opportunity.

Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, or Counselling

Extensive post-graduate experience in therapeutic counselling, groupwork, parenting support, and case management

Proven ability to engage families facing service hesitancy or barriers

Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
Employment Type: This is a part-time (.8FTE) permanent opportunity. However full-time could be considered for the right candidate.
