Applications are invited from suitable qualified and experienced Registered Sexual Health Nurses to join the dynamic Sexual Health team at Albury Community Health.  The Sexual Health Nurse (Clinical Nurse Specialist) is responsible for the provision of direct clinical services, community education, health promotion and support services for groups and individuals in the Albury and surrounding community at particular risk of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI)/HIV infection and other Blood Bourne Viruses (BBV).  The Sexual Health Nurse will also be responsible for the provision of patient centred, evidence-based nursing care and is expected to embrace practice development principles in the delivery of that care.  the nurse will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with individuals and the multidisciplinary health care team using a contemporary practice model.

 

We are actively seeking candidates who meet the following requirements to apply for this exceptional opportunity:

 

  • Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) together with demonstrated ability to meet the National Competency Standards for Registered Nurse and Australasian Sexual Health & HIV Nurses Association (ASHHNA) Competency Standards domains.
  • Post graduate qualification in the field of Sexual Health and Reproductive Health Speciality and/or equivalent work experience with demonstrated competencies in Sexual Health Nursing or a combination of both study and work experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Sexual Health nursing, its application in caring for clients and an understanding of harm minimisation principles.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current nursing care of people living with HIV within the community setting.
  • Achievement or commitment to achieving NSW Authorisation as a Nurse Immuniser within 12 months of commencement.


Employment Type: This is a fixed-term, part-time position of 16 hours per week, with the possibility of increasing to 24 hours per week.
