The position of Plant Electrician shall be responsible for the maintenance, alteration, installation, or repair of electrical plant and equipment at AWH facilities that supports clinical and non-clinical teams and functions that ensures the welfare, safety and comfort of staff, visitors and patients. In undertaking the works the incumbent will be working in active patient wards, operating theatres and other clinical environments. We are actively seeking candidates who meet the following requirements to apply for this exceptional opportunity.

  • Current NSW / VIC Trade License (Electrical).
  • Current Drivers’ License and a willingness to travel for work purposes.
  • Demonstrated successful experience in the preventative and corrective maintenance of electrical and / or refrigeration plant and equipment distribution boards.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Australian Standards relating to electrical / refrigeration installations in Hospitals, with the ability to acquire new skills and keep up to date with Trade developments.
  • Demonstrated high level of skill in fault diagnosis and rectification in electrical / refrigeration plant and equipment and high level of understanding of Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise with health care clients and F&M Supervisors in regards to repairs and scheduling of works and ability to provide technical advice.
  • Ability to develop and implement initiatives of continuous quality improvement within the Employees designated area of work with demonstrated customer focussed approach to service delivery.
  • Proficient use of computer based maintenance software.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development and the willingness to participate in Department Performance Management Review programs.
