AWH is seeking an experienced and compassionate Nurse Unit Manager to lead our Oncology Ward. This role suits a strong clinical leader committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered cancer care and fostering a positive, collaborative ward culture.

The nurse unit manager is responsible  for ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality care, consistent with AWH policies, professional standards and legislative requirements. The role has accountability for clinical governance, workforce management, and resource utilisation and works collaboratively with the multidisciplinary teams to achieve service objectives. 

 

Requirements

  1. Registered Nurse with relevant postgraduate qualification or working towards same.
  2. Substantial clinical experience in oncology nursing, within an acute health service environment.
  3. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills.
  4. Strong clinical governance and quality improvement experience in an acute health care setting
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams
  6. Proven ability to manage resources effectively, including rostering, budgeting and service planning
