The Intensive Care Fellowship at Albury Wodonga Health is an opportunity for a CICM trainee in their transition year to develop their consultant skills in a supported environment.
The Intensive Care Fellow is expected to provide supervised high level Intensive Critical Care services within their approved scope of clinical practice as part of the Intensive Care team at Albury Wodonga Health. They will participate in the on call arrangements for intensive care under the supervision of an intensive care specialist. As such, a minimum level of expertise and skill-set is necessary.
The role of Intensive Care Fellow is considered commiserate with a senior medical position and carries with it the professional responsibilities of clinical leadership, teaching, governance and administrative requirements. As such, a significant proportion (up to 50%) of contracted hours will be dedicated to clinical support time. This will also facilitate opportunities to pursue further professional development with a particular focus on advanced echocardiography.

• Must be a registered Medical Practitioner in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Are a member of the College of Intensive Care Medicine.
• Demonstrated commitment to high quality patient care.
• Demonstrated commitment and ongoing activity in research and/or clinical audit activities.
• Involvement in teaching and training of medical, technical and nursing staff, including at undergraduate and post-graduate level.
• Attendance and active involvement in relevant departmental, organisational and external meetings (i.e. College, Association and National/International bodies).
• An interest in developing skills in the field of echocardiography.
