ICU Access Clinical Nurse
We have a 5 ICU equivalent funded Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on Albury Campus with an overall bed capacity of 12 beds (inclusive of N-Class rooms). Albury ICU is an accredited N.S.W Level 5 service (Victorian Level 2). The ICU model of care encompasses both Intensive Care, High Dependency and Coronary Care patient cohorts (inclusive of stable paediatric patients). The Critical Care Services includes a comprehensive Clinical Liaison Service on both Albury and Wodonga sites, Donate Life program and supports the remote cardiac monitoring service for the acute campuses. You will be supported by a dynamic, innovative and contemporary team of expert clinicians including our ICU Clinical Director, Nurse Unit Manager, Supervisor of Training, Clinical Nurse Educators and ACCESS Nurses, Clinical Nurse Consultants and Nurse Practitioner.
Position Overview
The ICU Access Clinical Nurse / Midwife Specialist position is a RN / RM who applies an advanced level of clinical nursing knowledge, experience and skills in providing complex nursing / midwifery care directed towards a specific area of practice, a defined population or defined service area, with minimum supervision.
We are actively seeking candidates who meet the following requirements to apply for this exceptional opportunity.
- Current Nursing and/or Midwifery Registration with APHRA
- Relevant post registration qualifications in the clinical area of his/her specified post graduate qualification with a minimum of three years within the clinical specialty.
- Demonstrated high level of interpersonal and communication skills including advocacy and negotiation and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to mentor and coach nursing staff to enhance professional development.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and initiating activities to improve clinical service delivery and patient clinical outcomes.
- Demonstrated clinical leadership skills, commitment to patient / client focused care, and experience in providing complex care in the area of specified clinical practice / expertise.
- Extended autonomy of decision-making skills and the ability to work effectively as an integral part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Supports and contributes to quality improvement, clinical risk management and research projects within the area of practice.
- Demonstrates consistent and systematic application of the nursing process in the provision of person-centred care.
Employment Type: Fixed Term Part-time, 12month Maternity leave position.

Our Critical Care Service on Albury Campus comprises a Level 5 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Clinical Liaison Service, Donate Life Program and management of the remote cardiac monitoring service for the acute campus. Our ICU is funded for 5 ICU or equivalent Intensive Care level beds with an overall bed capacity of 12 beds. The ICU model of care encompasses Intensive Care, High Dependency and Coronary Care patient cohorts (inclusive of pediatric patients). Our Unit provides care to approximately 700 critically ill patients annually and is available to support other health services as available through REACH and adult retrieval.
