We are seeking a compassionate, motivated and patient-focused Enrolled Nurse (EN) to join our Surgical Ward team. As an integral member of the healthcare team, you will work under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver high-quality, person-centred care to patients while practising within your scope of practice and professional standards.

About the Role

As an Enrolled Nurse, you will contribute to the delivery of safe, effective and evidence-based nursing care. You will be responsible for supporting patients throughout their healthcare journey, ensuring their physical, emotional and psychosocial needs are met while maintaining the highest standards of professional practice.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver person-centred nursing care in accordance with your licence, competence and scope of practice.
Conduct patient assessments and observations, identifying and reporting changes in clinical condition to the Registered Nurse.
Administer medications and intravenous (IV) therapies in accordance with AWH policies and relevant qualifications.
Contribute to the development and implementation of patient care plans.
Participate in patient admissions, transfers and discharge processes.
Support patient education using appropriate communication strategies.
Maintain infection prevention and control standards.
Promote patient safety through accurate patient identification and procedure matching.
Provide care that recognises and respects diversity, cultural needs and individual circumstances.

Professional Development

Maintain compliance with AWH policies, procedures and mandatory training requirements.
Participate in ongoing professional development activities and educational opportunities.
Engage in performance review processes and reflective practice.
Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement through knowledge sharing and professional growth.

Communicate effectively with patients, families and multidisciplinary team members.
Foster positive working relationships and contribute to a respectful workplace culture.
Support collaborative care planning and achievement of shared patient outcomes.

Participate actively in team meetings and quality improvement initiatives.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will:

Hold current registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).
Demonstrate a commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centred care.
Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrate sound clinical judgement and accountability for your practice.
Be committed to ongoing learning and professional development.
