About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced mental health nurse to take on the role of Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) Coordinator at Nolan House, the mental health inpatient unit at Albury Base Hospital. As a Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2), you will play a key role in leading and coordinating ECT services, ensuring the safe and effective delivery of this essential treatment for individuals experiencing severe mental health conditions. This role offers the chance to contribute to best-practice mental health care while supporting staff development and service improvement.

 

What We’re Looking For:

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
  • Postgraduate Diploma or Master’s in Mental Health Nursing (or working towards)
  • Completion of, or willingness to complete, an accredited ECT training program
  • Experience in mental health nursing with a strong understanding of ECT procedures and protocols

 

Skills & Attributes

  • Expertise in clinical assessment and patient care planning
  • Strong leadership and coordination skills to oversee ECT services
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams
  • Commitment to best-practice standards and quality improvement initiatives
  • Ability to educate and support staff on ECT procedures and guidelines

 

Desirable:

  • Experience in coordinating ECT services within a healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of mental health legislation, policies, and accreditation standards related to ECT
  • Skills in training and mentoring staff in ECT best practices

Employment Type: This is a part time opportunity (Monday, Wednesday & Friday - 24 hours per week).
