AWH Pharmacy is entering a period of significant growth and service redesign, including the commencement of public Cancer Care Pharmacy services at the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre from 28 August 2026.

Recent changes include a significant Pharmacy Team redesign with new senior pharmacist and technician roles, expansion of the intern program, and development of an AdPha‑accredited Residency Program. This reflects a strong commitment to workforce development and advanced practice.

The introduction of public Cancer Care Pharmacy services is a major milestone. It provides an opportunity to further strengthen; clinical governance, integrate services, and support high‑quality, safe care aligned with AWH values and community needs. The Cancer Care Pharmacy operates an aseptic chemotherapy compounding suite within the AWRCC, a regional hub with a 28‑chair day infusion unit, 20 inpatient beds, outpatient clinics, and a clinical trials service, supported by the CHARM clinical system.

 

About the Role

The Deputy Head Pharmacy Technician – Cancer Care Services will support the Head Pharmacy Technician in the coordination of technician services at the AWRCC. The role will focus on the operational oversight of pharmacy technician staff and delivery of advanced technician duties within the Cancer Care dispensary under pharmacist supervision.

We seek an experienced Pharmacy Technician with strong hospital and aseptic chemotherapy compounding experience. The successful candidate will demonstrate commitment to patient‑centred care and high‑quality, safe Cancer Care pharmacy services.
