About the Pharmacy
Our department comprises a diverse and highly skilled team of more than 60 pharmacists and pharmacy technicians across two sites, Albury and Wodonga who work collaboratively to deliver exceptional care and optimise patient outcomes. We foster a supportive team environment where innovation, professional growth and excellence in patient care are at the centre of everything we do. We have recently undertaken a significant redesign of our Pharmacy Department to strengthen leadership, enhance workforce development and build service capability to meet the growing healthcare needs of our community.
As part of this exciting transformation, we have established dedicated Team Leader Pharmacist roles across three key clinical portfolios:
- Medical & Mental Health
- Emergency Medicine & Critical Care
- Surgical & Women's Health
These leadership roles are complemented by specialist positions including a dedicated Education Pharmacist, Intern Preceptor, and Clinical Informatics Pharmacist, ensuring strong clinical support, mentorship and career development opportunities for all staff.
The AWH Pharmacy Department is also preparing to assume responsibility for pharmacy services within the Regional Cancer Centre. This represents an exciting new chapter for our service and will create opportunities for pharmacists to gain experience and rotate through oncology and cancer care specialties as these services continue to expand.
At AWH, we are committed not only to delivering outstanding patient care but also to investing in our people. We actively support professional development, clinical skill advancement, leadership growth and ongoing learning to help our pharmacists build rewarding and fulfilling careers.
