The Allied Health Assistant will be a valued member of the Admitted Speech Pathology team to provide goal-oriented management of patients as directed by the Speech Pathologist and participate in the day to day running of departmental programs within the inpatient setting and outpatient clinics. The caseload is predominantly adult based.  The team provides a supportive environment that offers supervision and connections with Allied Health assistants in the multidisciplinary admitted team.

 

We are actively seeking candidates who meet the following requirements to apply for this exceptional opportunity.

  • Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance or currently completing certificate or experience deemed relevant by employer
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, independently and unsupervised.
  • Demonstrated ability to support patients / clients in their acquisition of new skills.  
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Ability and willingness to contribute to program development and implementation of new initiatives.
  • Demonstrated basic understanding and knowledge of health and safety issues in the workplace.
  • Sound basic computer skills and a willingness to develop skills in the use of a range of technology systems as relevant to the position.
  • Outline your experience relating to the above requirements in a cover letter in your application.
